- Since late 2006, before most agents had any idea what a short sale was, I became one of the area's first to jump on board the short sale wagon, realizing the benefits to the buyer, seller, and the seller's lender. While the industry standard changes monthly, weekly, and even daily, I have managed to achieve high success rates with the short sale process, stopping many, many foreclosures and saving lenders tens of thousands of dollars when compared to the cost of foreclosure, as well as helping to keep market values more stable than would be otherwise. I have handled both whosale and retail, but prefer retail, unless there is no other way to prevent an auction than to consider an investor for the purchase. I believe in the process, even though there is much negative hype at this time. When there is experience, knowledge and a high degree of respect for the process, the short sale experience can be extremely beneficial for everyone involved.
