"I have closed many transactions that brokers were the buyer and have not had any issues with them getting the commission. It really has to do with whether that commission is biting into what the lien holder would like to net."

Coming from 30+ years in the mortgage business, from processing at a branch level, to underwriting at the corporate level, then finally regional manager of a contract underwriting division of a mortgage insurance company, it was a natural progression into being a real estate broker in 2003. It was a great transition for me since I was able to help some of my loan clients sell their current home and buy their next home. I had seen such a metamorphsis in the mortgage business. When lending on homes stopped in 2008, it was a natural thing to step into forensic underwriting and realize that perhaps there are going to be more people in need than they themselves know. So when my clients asked me to help them sell their home and help them get out from under the burden of a mortgage loan that they didn't understand and couldn't handle, my understanding of the whole mortgage business became very valuable. I was able to assist clients negotiate with their lienholder prior to any designations or special training was popular.

My love for working with people and helping them fulfill a need is my number one priority here at Realty Executives Evergreen. Home ownership should be a dream and not a nightmare. It was so rewarding to see people respond so well to a situation in their life. Assisting homeowners preserve their credit and be able to re-purchase a home in the future became a driving force. This is where I am today. Being a CDPE is fulfilling a passion of mine and that is to help people in distressed situations come into a better situation.
