Realtor Short Sales Training and Resources
I just received the biggest surprise of my life today! Two dozens roses and a box of candy was delivered to me today from the homeowner that we closed on her house last week after more than 4 months trying to get her short sale approved!
I almost cried - this gesture on her part just proved to me how much she had put her faith and trust in me to get the job done. Sometimes, it is not about the money but just being able to help someone!
Again, thank you Mike and staff for creating this wonderful program!

Permalink Reply by Lila Lopez on November 9, 2011 at 12:42pm Hi Cindy, congratulations on your closing!! I know that feeling as well. I just recently closed on a transaction for buyers that had the misfortune of having run into an rather unethical Realtor prior to meeting me and they of course were very hesitant and cautious throughout the process. It took several offers on homes before we found "the home", which of course was a short sale transaction. They were not thrilled with the prospect of having to wait for the short sale to be approved, given all the horror stories they had heard. I was able to assure them of my experience in dealing with the banks as well as show them that I was nothing like the prior agent they had dealt with. My buyers did in fact get "the home" and we closed a couple of weeks ago. I make it a custom to get my buyers/sellers a closing gift that is reflective of my appreciation of their business. Imagine my surprise the day of closing when I received a huge box of Godiva chocolates (they know I love my chocolate). A week later I received what turned out to be the most moving Thank You card which I happened to be reading during our office sales meeting and I got so emotional I started to cry. Just the day before yesterday, I then got a call from my office that there was a package that had been deliver to me, yet another amazing gift from my buyers. The value or size of the gift is not what matters but the size of their appreciation for the service I provided means more to me than anything else. As stressful as our business can be, knowing that I was able to find my buyer "the home" brings me a great deal of joy. I genuingly love what I do and value every relationship that I have built with my clients and professional counterparts. Times are tough, but when things like this occur, it somehow puts a big spring in my step.
It is buyers and sellers like these that make it all worthwhile!
Permalink Reply by Jan Nicola on November 9, 2011 at 4:31pm It is rewarding. I also just got a short sale accepted and the seller has thanked me over and over. She knows that a short sale is much better for her than foreclosure. Like you say, it's not about the money, it's about helping those who fell on hard times.
