MetLife has hired a 3rd party service to assist them with short sales.  I don't know if that means they are not selling their loans to Chase or just what.  Anyway, here is the contract information for the 3rd party that I have been working with very recently

Hello Everyone,

I am just beginning a Short Sale with MetLife, and I wanted to correct the fax numbers for ending SS packages.

Fax No. 1 - 1-214-441-6180

Fax No. 2 - 1-214-441-6190

MetLife is transferring ALL loans to Chase on March 1, 2013. If your loan is not approved by that date, you may have to resubmitt information to Chase. I will try to make updates weekly on how this goes: before, during, and after transition to Chase.

Thanks everyone. I called the customer service line and explained my situation to a sympathetic rep. Lo and behold, she transferred me to an individual that tracked Oscar down. The result is I am getting my letter by tomorrow morning. I am still a little skeptical but am holding on to some positive thoughts.

I would suggest asking if they can help you find out if "Oscar Senior" still works there or if he's been sick or on vacation.  You're worried that something must have happened to him since he promised the revised settlement letter.  (Worth a shot!)

On the First Trust Side, I will say that MetLife/First Horizon-Tennessee has gotten A LOT better.  Their call center staff are now polite and actually seem concerned about getting something done.  My most recent approval came through Angela Davis.  She was forthcoming and prompt.  I had to make sure I had called the right number . . . I was so shocked and surprised. (In a good way)


On the HELOC side, I am representing the buyer and the "Celebrity" listing agent is worse on communication that MetLife ever was.  What a horrible combination.  Often times agents confuse financial success with professionalism.  I guess if one does enough volume, there is no need to be a professional, and downright rude is their rule of conduct.  Bad for everyone invloved, except of course, the "Celebrity" agent.


MetLife isn't great, but they are so much better than before.  Let's hope they don't backslide.

Does anyone have the name(s) of any individual that I can escalate my file? I have been dealing with Oscar Senior and he is positively the worst to get a response from. He promised a revised settlement letter last Tuesday to arrive on Wednesday and has yet to send. Furthermore, he is not responding to voicemail or email.  This is my 4th buyer in 15 months and might lose them as well! Thanks!

I am in the beginning stages with First Horizon (First Tennessee) as the 2nd as well.  I have only gotten voicemail for the 800.354.4538 short sale dept... How is yours progressing?
