Citi Short sale help, advice??

hi, I recently put an offer in a short sale and it said it had two lein holders both were with Citi bank..... I put the offer on it about 2 months ago now. and The sellers realtor mentioned it would probably take around 6-8 weeks. But we haven't heard anything recently. Last I heard was 3 weeks ago, and it said we were just waiting for a negotiator to get assigned.... Is there anything I could do as the buyer to call citi and check on the status of this? or does anyone have any educated guesses on how much longer i will be looking at waiting?

Hi Dave. Unfortunately, there is nothing that you can do as the buyer to contact Citi. It's all up to the person that the seller has authorized to speak with Citi and negotiate the short sale. 2 months does seem like a long while. Hopefully the listing agent is on top of it.

I just heard back from the other realtor, and this is what they said.... Hopefully its a good thing.

Citi has confirmed receipt of all doc's. I was told yesterday that by end of week/early next week, we should have someone assigned to our file as a Level II negotiator. The appraisal was ordered yesterday as well.

I am estimating that we are approx 2-3 weeks from a reply. We are moving along on this file.
