Anyone know SPECIFICALLY what a:
"Signed Name Affidavit"
is? We are doing a GMAC second lien short sale on Equator and being asked for this item.
Negotiator (and her supervisor) are missing in action, the higher ups seem to have no clue what this is, and, the GMAC web site makes no mention of this?
Anyone have thoughts or feedback?
You can reach me direct at BBenita@Comcast.net if you know what this is or can help.
Thanks

A name affidavit is used when the name on the contract slightly differs from the name on the mortgage or the name on the mortgage slightly differs from the seller's full, legal name. This is also used when a seller gets married/divorced and has a name change after the mortgage was gotten.
The signed name affidavit must be notarized. Most title companies have name affidavits that the seller can sign and someone at the title company can notarize.
