I am starting a short sale with SLS, the seller has many liens some city, county, and state. One is a large state tax lien. Over 17k. The other are smaller liens for unpaid, sewer, water, nuisance abatement all have been recorded against the owner and against the property.

Anyone know which the lender will pay? Someone told me that the state tax liens must be paid by the buyer?
