According to HAFA Guidelines, the homeowners have to live in the property and keep it broom clean inside and out. Is there a timeline as to when they can vacate the property before sale or closing?

A recent change in the Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternative (HAFA) program allows the property to be vacant for up to 12 months prior to the signing of the short sale agreement. This change was made on February 15, 2011. The property has to be (or was) the seller's primary residence.
Excellent! I thought this was the case. Thank you.
