I will be closing my first deal soon in which the seller has remained current with mortgage payments to Chase.  Does anyone know exactly how a short is reported to the credit agencies?  Do the different lenders report it in different ways?

settled less than full balance.  Their FICO  may or may not be affected but they will not qualify for government agency mortgages for 24 months.
Thank you, Joseph.  I very much appreciated your taking the time to respond.
There is really no way to tell...one person can do a short sale and barely have a knick in their credit, but someone else can do one and get whacked 150 pts.  With the way they figure credit score...craziness...no way to know for sure...
